Robert Hobson, Psy.D. is a Licensed Psychologist in Kentucky and has practiced psychology in Hopkinsville for over 25 years. Dr. Hobson obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (with Honors) from Western Kentucky University in 1975 and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Western in 1977. After working for two years at a community mental health center in Paducah, Kentucky, Dr. Hobson obtained a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) Degree from Baylor University.

Following his internship Dr. Hobson moved to Hopkinsville where he worked for 17 years at the Pennyroyal Center. Dr. Hobson then worked for one year at the Hopkinsville Family Counseling Center. In December of 2001, Dr. Hobson, with Dr. Henry Davis and Mr. Andrew Jensen, began a private practice called The Psychology Group. 

Dr. Hobson is a member of the Kentucky Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Hobson primarily works with children, adolescents, and their families. He has expertise in psychological assessment, as well as individual, family, and group interventions. Common referral concerns include young people who experience problems with learning, relating to others, sadness/depression, anxiety/fears, anger, disobedience, adjusting to stressful situations, and behaviors associated with ADHD (e.g., inattentive, impulsive, overactive, poor self-control).

Dr. Hobson lives in Hopkinsville with his wife, Marilyn. They have two daughters and a son.
